The message of the Christmas season - that a child shall be born to save us all - is told first to Mary via an angelic salutation. In our Christmas concert we explored music associated with Mary as the 'mystic rose' in carols ranging from the Renaissance to the present day, including familiar masterpieces by Parsons, Mouton, Howells, Bruckner, Villette and Berkeley, as well as modern classics by Arvo Pärt and Jan Sandström. This concert will also featured the world premiere of the winning composition from our Carol competition: Rorate, caeli, desuper! by Charles West.
